Book Query Critique

Your query letter is probably the most important thing about your entire novel. It’s what sells the novel to the audience. If your query letter sucks, chances are high your manuscript, no matter how good it is, won’t get sold either. It may not even get read. So you need a query letter that shines, that shows your story’s strength and that draws the reader in.

Having written quite a few query letters myself, I’m willing to help out. Send me your query letter, along with the genre of your book and word count, and I’ll look over it. I’ll give helpful suggestions of what I think needs to be improved. I’ll help with consistency, voice, what would help the query sell, and much more.

What makes me the perfect person to critique your query? Well, I’ve read a lot of queries, I’ve written a lot of queries myself, and some of those actually landed me my publishing deals.

I use MS Word and Track Changes to track my changes and comments on the query letter. You can accept the changes or reject them, based on your own preferences.
