Hey there and welcome to my blog! As you may have guessed from the domain name, my name is Majanka Verstraete. I’m a twenty-two-year-old law school student from Belgium. I have a Bachelors Degree in Law, and am now working on achieving my Masters Degree.

I spend most of my spare time writing children’s fiction. I write primarily for young adults, but I also write middle grade fiction, chapter books and picture books. All my works are speculative fiction so far, but I’ve been trying to write something contemporary – unfortunately I can’t seem to write a single manuscript without adding a ghoul, demon, witch or ghost.

My debut novel, FRACTURED, will be released by InkSpell Publishing in September 2014. FRACTURED is a dark fantasy novel for young adults, and the first book in the Mirrorland series.

When I’m not writing or studying, I like to read. I read about 150 books a year, and review most of these on my book review blog, I Heart Reading. Next to reviewing, I also participate in bookish memes and blog tours, and host author interviews.
