Author Interview with John Ukah
I’m interviewing John Ukah today, author of cozy mystery “Murder at Midnight”. Welcome!
Author Interview
When did you know you wanted to be an author?
I have been writing since childhood. I have always kept a personal journal. Writing is therapeutic. There was no conscious decision to become a writer. Writing has always been a part of me.
What inspired you to write Murder at Midnight?
The story took shape after I was awakened at night by unusual footsteps outside my door. The story is about a young lady who discovered a dark secret and was murdered in a guesthouse at midnight.
What is your editing process like?
I make a lot of notes when writing especially for research purposes. I prepare broad outlines and chapter plans. I write a few chapters at a time and not necessarily in a sequential order. I edit them over and over again. It is useful to get feedback from a reader, an independent eye, while editing.
Did you set any writing goals for 2017?
I am hoping to complete two manuscripts I have been working on.
Are you working on something now?
I am working on a detective thriller. It is a testimony on the bogey of love-life amidst confusion and value misjudgements. It affirms the point of duty on young men and women to make the right choices with their eyes open. The story is a saga of love, pitiful criminalities, investigations, assumptions and deceits.
