Author Interview with Paul Longley
– Have you been writing for a long time?
No, not at all. Took years to finally get into the actual writing but the idea and story had been refined over a long time talking to friends and colleagues in a sort of verbal history.
– What inspired you to start a writing career?
Not so much a career but a cathartic act to get my memories of what happened down on paper so as to let other people better understand and know about what happened. Although intended mostly just for the family and children to have something to remember about their father/grandfather, also inspired by a good friend, himself an author, who saw some value in having the history written and also in using the written word as the medium to do it.
– Is this your first book? If not, can you tell us about your first book?
Yes, first book.
– Why did you choose this genre?
Not really a case of choosing a genre, more the story fits a genre no real design behind it.
– Do you have any works in progress you’d like to tell us about?
Nothing at present, although have sketched out an idea for a fictional thriller type novel
