What’s Up Wednesday #13
What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly blog hop created by Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk. The goal of this hop is to help connect writers on their writing journey. You can find out more about the blog hop here.
What I’m Reading
I’m reading “Within These Walls” by Ania Ahlborn. It’s a horror book about a true crime writer investigating a ritual murder, who goes to live in the house the murder happened, and finds it haunted. It’s an interesting book, and I’m enjoying it so far. It’s quite long though, so I still have a lot of reading to do.
What I’m Writing
I didn’t get a lot of writing done. I hope I’ll get more done next week.
Writing goal for the week: write short story for the #AStoryAWeek Challenge, and finish going through edits for Reflected.
What Works For Me
The last week, I spent twelve hours traveling back and forth to university by train. All those hours traveling did give me a lot of inspiration, especially when looking out of the windows and imagining things about the houses the train rushed by, or making up stories about other passangers.
What Else Is New
I still have to read through two manuscripts, preferably before I leave on holiday. I have several February projects lined up too, so I’d like to wrap those up before then. I’ve went to see Into The Woods, and I liked the first part, but I didn’t enjoy the second part all that much. The fairytales just got so sad. I much preferred the happy tone of the first part.
I’m excited to leave on holiday this weekend. Some time off will do me some good. I’ve spent too long locked up in my house, studying, now I need to get out.

Have a great holiday! That book does sound fascinating. Enjoy.

I still haven’t seen the movie version of Into The Woods, but that’s exactly how I felt about the play–l almost wish I’d just gone away at the intermission. Good luck getting it all done before your holiday!

I’ll have to check out “Within These Walls” since that sounds like just my type of book. Good luck with getting through those MSs!

Good luck getting through your writing goal and WOW 12 hours of traveling. *salutes you*

I sometimes think just soaking things in is one of the best forms of inspiration. People-watching, your surroundings, whatever… It’s all great stuff and great material for stories, isn’t it? As for INTO THE WOODS, I had much the same reaction to it as you did. Didn’t love the turn it took toward the end. Hope you have a great week and are able to get everything done before your holiday! 😀
