Author interview with Donald Wilson II
I’m interviewing Donald Wilson II today, author of YA urban fantasy “Cross Roads”. Welcome to my blog, Donald, and thanks for answering my questions.
When did you know you wanted to be an author?
I’ve wanted to write since I was eight years old. That’s when I created my first graphic novel. I feel like I’ve always been a writer.
Where did you get the inspiration for Cross Roads?
Cross Roads was inspired by many of the strong women in my life. I wanted to tell a story that featured a strong female lead.
What is your editing process like?
For me it’s painful. I’m not a fan of the editing process at all, but I recognize that it’s an important part of the process so I grin and deal with it.
What was the most challenging part of writing this book?
My computer crashed once and it took a while to get it back up & running. I saved my data but it was very annoying.
Did you set any writing goals for 2014? Did you accomplish any, so far?
I did and I’m very close to achieving those goals. Now I understand that things happen in time and not all at once so I’m being patient or at least pretending to be.
Are you working on something now? If so, can you tell us a little about it?
I’m working on the Cross Roads sequel. I don’t know how much I can tell you about it except that there’s more action and excitement in this one than in the previous book.
