Author Interview with Elisabeth Jackson
I’m interviewing Elisabeth Jackson today, author of romantic suspense / mystery “This Beautiful World”. Thanks for answering my questions, Elisabeth, and welcome to my blog!
Author Interview
1. When did you know you wanted to be an author?
Ten years ago. And it’s taken me about that long to get a novel published. Never give up!
2. Where did you get the inspiration for This Beautiful World?
My characters were inspired by the small, rural towns I have visited and lived in. The mystery part was actually inspired by a little known true story–I will be writing a blog post on it someday!
3. What is your editing process like?
I outline first, then pretty much follow the outline as I write, but not always. Once I have a rough draft, I read through the work on the computer and then on paper. At that point it’s sent out to beta readers. After they’ve read it, I incorporate their feedback. Afterward I read it again and edit accordingly. The process varies depending on the project.
4. What was the most challenging part of writing this book?
This was the first book I’ve outlined. It took a long time to get the outline right, but it was worth it in the end.
5. What are your writing goals for 2014?
To finish a romance novella I’m working on and outline the second book in a series.
6. Are you working on something now? If so, can you tell us a little about it?
Yes. I have finished the first book in a New-Adult romance series under a different pen name. I’m very excited about it. It was recently acquired by an amazing publisher. More can be found out about it here.
