Author Interview with Jessica Gibson

I’m hosting an interview with paranormal romance author Jessica Gibson today. Jessica is the author of ‘Mark of the Witch’ and ‘Chasing the Witch’.

The Interview

1) When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

It’s funny, I never really knew I wanted to write. I was talking with my husband about an idea I had, and he gave me the kick in the butt I needed to sit and do it.
2) Where did you get the inspiration for Chasing The Witch?

It was a continuation of book one, so it was more a matter of planning out where I wanted the story to go, and setting it up for book 3.
3) Please tell us about Chasing The Witch.

Chasing picks up right where Mark of the Witch left off, just jump forward a few months. I introduced some new characters, and brought back a bunch of ones from book one.

4) What was the most challenging part about writing Chasing The Witch?

Figuring out where I wanted to end it lol. I knew I had to leave room for book 3, so finding a stopping point was a challenge.

5) Which of your novels did you enjoy writing the most?

For me, I think the Blood Ties series have been the most fun. My vampires are true vampires, they kill and hunt.

6) What are your writing goals for 2013?

I would like to have 4-5 books out in 2013, I hope I can make it happen.

7) Are you working on something right now? Can you tell us more about it?

I have a YA book called Haunted U being put out by the amazing ladies of Hayson Publishing in the next few months! It’s about a young witch.

Jessica Gibson is a recovering bookaholic, she’s down from four books a week to a more reasonable one. It was that love of words and creativity that made her dream about writing her first book. That dream was hidden for years, always put on the back burner, filed away in the “someday” section, until her husband Matt gave her the kick in the pants she needed to actually get off her butt and write.
Jessica and Matt live in Southern California and have a serious addiction to reality tv shows like Pawn Stars and American Restoration. They have one son and hope to add to the family in the near future.
