Author Interview with Angel Rothamel
I’m hosting an interview today with Angel Rothamel. Angel is the author of “Misunderstandings”, which is a M/M contemporary romance novel touring for two weeks. Thanks for answering my questions, Angel, and welcome to my blog!
The Interview
1) When did you know you wanted to become an author?
I’ve been writing since I was in the 6th grade and knew that I would always be writing in some way or the other. It wasn’t until my best friend and writing partner (under AJ Kelton), encouraged me to submit a story to be published. Getting the first and then second contracts have helped me to have ‘successful author’ as my goal.:D
2) How long did it take you to write Misunderstandings from start to finish?
This particular book didn’t take me that long. Dallas and Dan had their story written out before they began talking to me. They picked a time when I was free from other stories and when I sat at my computer they just began chatting. So I think from start to finish it took about a month to 6 weeks.
3) What was the most challenging part about writing Misunderstandings?
Combining it with what I had already written in book 2, Lucian and Tristan’s book, with what I was currently writing.
4) What are your writing goals for 2013?
I have several projects that I would like to get them finished and published by the end of the year.
5) What is your editing process like?
Hell! Lol No, not really… For the most I don’t mind edits. I can breeze through the punctuation and small edits easily. It’s when it comes to editors wanting things changed and taken out because they are, ‘not needed’ or ‘you have to go into more detail’… it gets frustrating. I still make the changes but I also am lucky that I have an editor that I can talk to and ask questions to and work things so we are both happy.
6) Where did you get the inspiration from for Misunderstandings?
While working on Lucian and Tristan’s book, which was only going to be a single book, I was at work and began thinking about what it would be like to have a town that had a team of SEALs retire there. From there, I began thinking of what kind of drama they could be put through. I had a glimpse of my recent trip to Albuquerque, Santa Fe and the Loretto church in Santa Fe. From there the whole ‘will reading’ scene came to me and the rest of the story just wrote itself.
7) Are you working on something right now? If so, can you tell us more about it?
I am currently working on several different projects. Both and Angel Rothamel and AJ Kelton. I am working on Lucian and Tristan’s book, a few other single titles that are in various stages of edits. I am also currently working on Faelon 2 and Marco 2 under AJ Kelton.

Author Bio
Growing up in Washington State then moving to Texas then Missouri, before going on a life changing move to Perth, Australia, Angel has used experiences in her life to encourage her writings. She began writing when she was in 6th grade and always loved to tell tales of drama and intrigue. She insists on a happily ever after, at least for now, but she also says that ‘the more drama they have to overcome the better. I like real stories, stories that take you on the gambit of emotions.’ She loves hearing that her readers laughed, cried, and even went so far as to want to smack the characters and ask… WTF!
She currently lives in Southeast Texas with her two dogs, a beagle Daisy and Chihuahua Bonita, along with her good friend Chris.
You can usually find her in front of her computer, typing away on her latest book, or on the phone with her best friend plotting out what will happen in one of their joint projects.
