November Goals

October sure went by fast. With fast, I mean it literally flew out of the window. I didn’t get to do a lot of writing in October, until the last week when I suddenly got a blast of inspiration and started working on Allegro Academy- Adagio.

The story behind Adagio is actually a very fun one. The book started out as contemporary romance, and was initially intended to be a novella. However, somewhere along the way it morphed into something longer, and a ghost story magically evolved in the middle of the plot. Although I think it’s peculiar I can’t manage to write a contemporary romance even if my life would depend on it (something paranormal always happens!) I also think it’s fun and intriguing. Maybe I’m just not meant to write anything without paranormal elements. I’m now at 17k words in Allegro Academy – Adagio.

As you all know, November is NaNoWriMo month, which means lots of people all over the world will try to write 50k words in one month. I’ll participate, but I can’t promise I’ll make it. Uni tends to give me lots of assignments in November, and although some of them would be long enough to win NaNoWriMo, unfortunately they don’t count!

The manuscript I’m planning to work on for NaNoWriMo is a bit troubling, because it has characters but no plot. Not having a plot or outline the day before the event starts (yes, I’m writing this post on October 31st and scheduling it for November 1st) is…worrying, to say the least. Fingers crossed I get some last minute inspiration!

My NaNoWriMo work is tentatively titled Blood Witch. It’s YA paranormal romance. In case writing that doesn’t work out (aka, no inspiration) I’m going to continue working on Deals with Demons, a YA paranormal romance I have outlined and ready to write. I know you’re probably wondering why I’m not writing that one. Well, I’m strange like that. I’m going to start on Blood Witch and if I end up hitting a tough spot, working on the other one instead.

As usually, I’m going to list my writing goals for this month, including the school assignments I have to write because *technically* that’s writing as well.

Here are my November goals:

  • Finish large writing assigment for university (topic: Opposing evidence collected in light of an investigation and penalty trial).
  • Finish shorter writing assigment for European Law.
  • Reach 50k words to win NaNoWriMo in either Blood Witch or Deals with Demons.
  • Reach 20k words in Allegro Academy – Adagio
  • Blog at least twice a week, at least once a week about NaNo Progress.

What are your goals for this month?
